On Friday, 5 June 2026, the handover of payment for electric vehicles (EVs) by the National Green Energy Fund (NGEF) was witnessed in Port Vila.

The payment was presented by the Director General of the Ministry of Climate Change, Mr. David Gibson, to Mr. Iven Oswald of Nambawan EV, one of the suppliers of electric vehicles in Port Vila.

The recipients of these EVs are the Vanuatu Primary Producers Authority (VPPA) and the Office of the Public Service Commission (OPSC).

The use of EVs will help reduce fuel costs while contributing to environmental sustainability by lowering greenhouse gas emissions associated with fossil fuels.
