COFFEE FARM VISIT – LOUPUKAS VILLAGE, MIDDLE BUSH TANNA

On 8th of September 2025, the Vanuatu Primary Producers Authority (VPPA) Officer for TAFEA Province Mr. Alvan Natuoivi, visited Mr. Raymond Narai, a coffee farmer from Loupukas Village, Middle Bush Tanna.

Mr. Narai recently took over the management of his late father’s one-hectare coffee farm. His father was a well-known and dedicated coffee grower, recognized as one of the top suppliers of dried coffee beans to TANNA COFFEE COMPANY since early 2000s.

Earlier this month, Mr. Narai began pruning and cleaning the farm. The plantation currently holds around 400–500 old coffee plants, and he had started replanting with new seedlings to revive and expand coffee plot.

During the visit, the VPPA Officer encouraged Mr. Narai to continue with the replanting program and to gradually increase the size of his coffee farm. Mr. Narai also noted that many coffee farmers in the area are now reviving their plantations, motivated by the recent rise in coffee prices from 150vt to 300vt per kilogram.

The VPPA Officer then officially registered Mr. Narai under the VPPA Coffee Product Group.
