VPPA ASSISTS A PRODUCER ON GAUA ISLAND, TORBA PROVINCE

    The Vanuatu Primary Producers Authority (VPPA) part mandate is to register and assist producers throughout Vanuatu. After registering producers, VPPA can link producers to markets, suppliers, government agencies, financial institutions and even prepare business plans for them. Business plans can then be use to seek financial and other support for these producers.

    Producers from all over Vanuatu had registered with the VPPA. In 2025, direct assistance from NBV Modern generation agricultural (MGA) loan were given to some producers from Torba province. One of these producers is Mr. Stephen Mol, now undertaking fishing and selling fish on Gaua island. He is also planning to have another outlet for selling fish in Luganville, Santo.

    He told VPPA that the loan was for helping develop his storage facilities and help grow his supply to the two market outlets. His business in currently based on Gaua island and he hopes to be able to supply to market outlets in Luganville and Port Vila in the future.
