This year's event, held under the theme "Strengthen Government Decentralized Services through Innovative Approach," highlighted the commitment to enhancing local governance through creativity and collaboration.
The Vanuatu Primary Producers Authority (VPPA) played a notable role in this year’s celebrations, joining forces with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, Forestry, and Biosecurity (MALFFB) for a vibrant float parade on August 28. The joint presentation emphasized the union between agricultural sectors and governmental bodies in advancing Vanuatu’s agricultural landscape.
In addition to their participation in the parade, VPPA showcased their initiatives through two booths set up from August 28th to the 30th. The primary booth, located inside the Convention Center, served as an informational hub. It featured two officers, a TV displaying videos detailing VPPA’s accomplishments, and an informative board that engaged visitors with key insights into the Authority’s work.
Outside the Convention Center, the VPPA’s marketing booth offered a selection of local produce and products. Farmers were on hand to sell a variety of fresh items, including island cabbage, 60-day cabbage, Chinese cabbage, kumala, pumpkin tops, cucumbers, and capsicum. In addition, the booth featured local products such as 70% cacao chocolate, honey from Santo, lower cacao percentage chocolates, and cacao powder.
The booths were a hit, not only for their successful sales but also for effectively spreading information about VPPA’s mission and activities. The event showcased a strong community spirit and a dedication to sustainable, innovative practices in Vanuatu’s public and agricultural sectors.
