The trainings were geared towards training the attendees on being internal inspectors who could assist in inspecting farms, especially ginger farms, as the training focused on inspections and certifying ginger farms. This is due to the recent efforts by VPPA, MALFFB and related Ministries in assisting the ginger exports sector
The trainings outlined the practices involved in attaining an organic standard that meets international export market standards.
The site visit practicals were held at Api farm, an integrated farm producing a range of products, from root crops and fruits to livestock.
Although focusing on ginger, the practices can be applied to other crops and products inspections and certification.
