The Vanuatu Primary Producer’s Authority, VPPA, employed on Monday 3rd July 2023, a Communications Officer to liaise with media concerning news and update information from and for the Authority concerned.

VPPA’s new Comms Officer, Mrs. Mimosa. C. Bakokoto has a long experience in the Media industry as a former staff of VBTC, the former Trading (Daily) Post and Independent Newspapers. She also has training and experience in broadcast journalism and Television journalism which includes anchoring for the national television news station, TBV.

She comes in with background qualifications in Communications Studies from the former Auckland Institute (University) of Technology (AIT/AUT), in Auckland, New Zealand. As well as this she was privileged to be selected by the Board and Administration of VBTC, in 2019 to receive further training from the New Zealand’s national Television Broadcast station, TV ONE.

The Office formally welcomed Mrs. Bakokoto with a signing of the contract with the CEO, Mr. T. Tumukon and Administrative Manager, Mrs. E. Kenneth as witness. 

Mrs. Bakokoto hopes that she will be an asset to the Office and will do what she can to assist the Office achieve its objectives in relation to communications. This is the first time for the Offiice to engage a Communications Officer.
